TRPS1?is a transcription factor that was?initially discovered?as?being?mutated?in Tricho-rhino-phalangeal?syndrome,?a
craniofacial and skeletal?malformation syndrome. TRPS1?recognizes GATA?sequences?and?represses the?activation?potential?of?other GATA factors.?In addition, TRPS1?binds to the?NuRD?complex via?CHD4?and?can?repress?other?key transcription?factors
such asp63 and?estrogen?receptor.
TRPS1?is?highly expressed?in?breast cancer, cervix, esophageal?epithelium.
TRPS1?is?used as a sensitive and?specific?marker?of?breast?cancer?in?pathological?diagnosis.
